Introducing Melee Character Ash and New Weapons to LOCO – Land of Chaos Online

Burda:ic, a leading publisher of online games worldwide, today announced the exciting addition of new character Ash, a motivated melee and distance fighter, to RTS Action MMO LOCO – Land of Chaos Online. Along with the newest member of the LOCO family, four new costumes have also been announced for popular characters Randy Rozz, Stella, Minity Grey, and Irene Claudel.

Ash is a young guy compared to the rest of the LOCO crew of misfits, on his way to explore the world for priceless items and valuables. Specifically, Ash is searching for a treasure chest that contains the vestiges of Hellion, a treasure currently in the possession of warlord Ellan Rhineford. Having stolen the chest during the conquest of the holy city Livria, Ellan will not part with the spoils easily, and Ash will have to use the full extent of his thieving abilities to steal what was rightfully stolen to begin with.

Ash brings with him a new weapon class to the game – the polearm, which can be used to fend off enemies at a medium distance – as well as a steal capability which allows Ash to plunder in-game gold (but not AP) from other characters. Opponents beware… Ash’s polearm gives him the ability to attack from quite a distance, so he’s just as worthy an adversary when he’s not trying to pick your pocket.

Idea Fabrik Showcasing New Social Game Development Technology at GDC

Idea Fabrik Plc. today announced that it will be showcasing a new platform that represents a major breakthrough in the development of social games at the Game Developers Conference later this month in San Francisco.

According to a recent report from Business Insights, the social gaming market encapsulates nearly 600 million users and was worth nearly $1.5 billion worldwide in 2010. Similarly, market research firm Newzoo found that roughly 90% of gamers in the United States play casual games. Since acquiring the HeroEngine platform for MMO game development last year, Idea Fabrik’s growing engineering team has been working in stealth mode to create a better way for developers to bring their games into this rapidly-expanding space.

Gun-Smoking Hot Content Update for Project Blackout

SG Interactive, developer and publisher of several popular free-to-play games, today announced the arrival of the first major update to multiplayer shooter Project Blackout. The update includes new maps, weapons, items and two unique events.

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, SG Interactive is adding special V-Mission Cards to the game which will give players themed bonuses for completing specific tasks during matches. In addition, enthusiastic players will be rewarded for showing off their skills in the Confirmed Kills UGC Video Contest. To participate, users simply need to create a YouTube video and post it to the Project Blackout Facebook page. The new game content and events are all available immediately, with the Valentine’s Day Mission Cards expiring on March 9 and the video contest ending Feb. 22.

LEGO® Ninjago Spins into LEGO Universe MMOG with Crux Prime Release

The LEGO Group today announced the release of Crux Prime, the largest content zone ever to be discovered in LEGO® Universe. The popular LEGO brick-based MMOG will officially open Crux Prime on February 8 for the most exciting in-game battle yet! The new zone delivers fresh challenges within a LEGO original Ninjago storyline for players to discover. The LEGO Ninjago toy line was just released last month, so now players can experience the fun of spinning ninjas, both offline with new LEGO bricks and Minifigures, as well as online in LEGO Universe.

A baby girl named Louisa, who had a powerful and ancient magic within her, was born to the royal family of Argyll. Burda:ic Launches User-Focused Lobby Redesign for LOCO – Land of Chaos Online

Burda:ic, a leading publisher of online games worldwide, today announced an update for RTS Action MMO LOCO – Land of Chaos Online that features a slew of in-game user interface improvements, as well as the introduction of an all-new assist system. The update is now available for players worldwide to download upon logging in to the game.

Entering the new LOCO game lobby, players will find that it is now easier than ever to jump into combat. Users just need to press the “Play a Game” button at the top of the screen, and they’ll be on their way to the battlefield straight away. Similarly, a “Play with Friends” button has been added, making it simple to invite friends and quickly start a game. The team-guild system has also been revamped, allowing groups and guilds to assemble more efficiently for their practice sessions.


Along with these design changes, burda:ic has introduced a new assist system that gives players the chance to nab extra EXP, gold and in-game points in combat. Previously, when a player applied the finishing blow to a monster, only that player was rewarded. With the new assist system in effect, any characters that help to kill an enemy will now also get a cut of the spoils. This is true for all monsters on the battlefield, not just bosses, ensuring that players can quickly amass a ton of loot by helping out their fellow fighters!

Joymax Kicks off the New Year with Four Global Events for Silkroad Online
